window rubber seal repair. September 24, 2025, 02:56:31 pm I've noticed a separation on my exterior rubber window seals. I thought about using a black window seal caulk or gasket. what are your thoughts ? Thanks!
Re: window rubber seal repair. Reply #1 – September 24, 2025, 06:57:10 pm The external gasket is designed to push the glass against the sealant. Sealing is on the inside of the frame. So a little shrinkage of the outside gasket is normal.Steve

Reply #3 – September 25, 2025, 11:46:46 am The small gaps caused by the weatherstripping shrinking from age should not cause problems, other than cosmetic. If the gap bothers you, it can be filled with a black polyurethane sealant; avoid using any type of silicone sealant.Larry
