LED tail lights - installation
Hi All,

I am installing Led tail lights to replace the incandescent ones. I have access to the rear of the lights through a passthrough on my new to me 2004 30' Island Bed. Wiring is a bit funky with one of the pair with 2 white and a green and the other side with 2 green and a white. I was able to determine which was power, signal and ground and now that side works. My question is how to make the lights not flash too fast. I know that there is something I need to add under the dash to replace the current flasher. What is the name of this device?

Now on to the other side and replace those lights.

Are you replacing the whole fixture or just the bulbs?
Most fixtures have a dropping resistor to keep the overall resistance similar to the stock bulb.
Some sftermarket bulbs do not have the correct resistance and will require a dropping resistor.
Something like this.
Amazon.com: Aaron 4Pcs 50W 6ohm Load Resistors - Fix LED Bulb Fast Hyper...

I would go ahead and change to LEDs and see if they hyperflash; if so, add the resistors.

Hi Larry,

I am changing the whole fixture. I remember doing this to my 2001 LD many years ago and used Peterson 4" round fixtures. They also had a rapid flashing. I was following Terry Tanner's website at the time and ordered the flasher he suggested. Now I have a Chinese brand and I have the rapid flashing. What I was hoping for was a link to the Ford flasher unit as I cannot find Terry's website. The ones I found were for the F series and did not mention the E series.

thanks for your help.
