Replacement for the small light in the stairwell and between sections (MB door) September 01, 2025, 12:54:56 am There is a small light on the wall to the left just inside the side door. There is an identical light between the kitchen and bathroom in our 2006 31ft MB. I have never seen anything like them, but they are both out and are whole units, so I can't change a bulb or anything like that.Where can I find replacements for these odd lights? Thanks in advance to all.

Your 2006 may have an older style incandescent light. The black cover should remove from underneath, revealing a #194 bulb. I replaced mine (years and years ago) with an LED license plate light. I think these... LED License Plate Truck and Trailer Light - Universal Courtesy Accent Light... . Also considered a 'step light'. On my rig, it is to remind you that your outside patio light is on. Also a switch in the cabover near the door as a night light. Your 30' I think has the entertainment center, so it might still be an interior night light, but the switch would be near the bed. These come in a more yellow light like an incandescent, or a brighter white at 4500K 'Natural white' that I prefer. They don't burn out. I think the fuse(s) are in the 12v dc distribution center. RonB Yes, good reminder about the one across from the door mounted on sink cabinet controlled by switch near upper bunk. I momentary had forgotten about that and thought it might be bad, but then I remembered the switch. Good timing too, a bit later we had our second guest since owning the LD staying with us in the bunk, and I told them about the switch in case they needed to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Re: Replacement for the small light in the stairwell and between sections (MB door) Reply #5 – September 05, 2025, 11:09:50 pm The LED fixtures that Ron linked to look just like the ones I installed in my 2003 midbath in those locations. No need to go to Todd--here they are at Amazon for six bucks a pair if you don't mind 6000K cold white. For a friendlier light, get the ones Ron mentioned, which can be had in 3000K warm white. Just remove the old fixture entirely and mount the new one in its place. Two screws and a couple of wire splices, and you're done. Re: Replacement for the small light in the stairwell and between sections (MB door) Reply #6 – September 07, 2025, 02:30:30 am Hi Lane; I stumbled upon one of the light fixtures I used to have in my '99, before I replaced it with LED 'license plate' lights. The black shroud can be pushed in slightly on the sides, towards the center and the cover will unsnap and pull outwards. The bulb can be replaced and the cover put back on, without removing the fixture or wiring. Of course it uses about 250 ma. vs about 40 ma. for the multiple LED's. (and the bulbs burn out). For two lights that is a savings of almost half an amp per hour. I opted for better reliability and lower power drain. The LD isn't a museum piece, and there is no bonus at the end of the rainbow for 'originality'. Think of it as an improvement. I have no incandescent or florescent bulbs left. LED's are far superior. You definitely should put in reliable, bright LED tail/ brake lights. I put in a high mounted center brake light also, with bumper mounted reflectors to make sure that the driver behind you, sees you. RonB 2 Likes
Re: Replacement for the small light in the stairwell and between sections (MB door) Reply #7 – September 07, 2025, 02:40:37 pm I agree with Ron, we have replaced every bulb in our 98~MB and many of the fixtures. We have changes the florescent lights with the LED tubes. We have added dimmers for the kitchen and back lounge lights. Actually the only bulbs we have not replaced are the night lights you mention here. The one on our kitchen sink cabinet is broken and could be replaced with one of those license plate lights the one more soft in color. Thank You Ron for the information. Re: Replacement for the small light in the stairwell and between sections (MB door) Reply #9 – September 07, 2025, 04:23:37 pm The lighted Bathroom mirror is the best except it is 120v. So we have to setup and turn on the inverter to run it or be plugged into shore power. It has daylight and softlight colors and is dimmable by touch. It is great for shaving or anything that needs good even light. The mirror is also has a heating function so if helps with fogging. Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA
