Replacing bottom plastic hinge on Dometic Royale refrigerator.

2002 31': The bottom plastic hinge broke on my Dometic Royale refrigerator Model: RM3862. It appears the bottom hinge is part of the bottom plastic trim piece. I attempted two unsuccessful attempts with super glue. I searched Model; RM3862 for replacement hinges. I'm not sure how these will replace the plastic originals.

Your thoughts.

The hardware in the pic is for the frame-side part of the hinges. You might have luck with an ebay search, eg:

Dometic RM 2852 /3862 Refrigerator L Opening Door-Used | eBay

or, try repairing OFF the door with JB Weld plastic epoxy, pretty good stuff.

There's a lot of stress on that hinge, given a loaded door. It was stupid of Dometic to use plastic. If you can't find a metal replacement (maybe from a later model year), could you fabricate a replacement from, say, 1/8" aluminum?

I totally agree. Plastic was a very bad idea. I'll tinker around and see if I can resolve the issue.
