New Tires (and alignment) - Michelin Agilis CrossClimate 2?
My tires reached the "recommended" five year replacement in April of this year.  I'm not rich by any means as a single senior retired teacher, but I'm not poor.  I "do" ask questions and try to be a savvy consumer, but I will admit trying to save a few bucks just isn't worth the anxiety and stress, as there's no "honey-do" person in my life.

Previously, I've used Discount Tire exclusively.  However, IMO they're fine for auto tires, but "not so much" for commercial type (RV) tires.  Therefore, I've decided to use a commercial tire vendor that specializes in larger vehicles.

Today, I visited the shop and asked about replacement tires for my Lazy Daze (plus an alignment).  At first I got a quote higher that Discount Tire/Tire Rack for Michelin Agilis CrossClimate by about $20.  Then, the shop offered a price of $265/tire that includes installation/mounting/disposal which is only $5 more than Discount Tire.  The alignment is $179.  However, the quote is for the "new" CrossClimate2 which seem to be the same but just a newer incarnation.  I also don't have to worry about being sold an older tire that has been sitting in a warehouse.

Who doesn't like to save money (and I considered less expensive tires), but I travel alone with my rescue Coton de Tulear Luna and like to keep "surprises" at a minimum.

Comments to guide me please (although the appointment is next Tuesday for installation), and a picture of my adorable co-pilot Luna...

Ask them to mount all six tires so the date codes are visible.  That is on the front and outside rear tires the date code should point to the outside.  On the rear inside tires the date code should point to the drive shaft, so if you're under the RV you could read the code.  Also request they place the date codes on the receipt (some tire shops will do that).  I kept the receipt in the RV in a file that held the owners manual and other receipts.

You should be able to ask them for tires with a date code only a few months old.

Thanks for the tip - I'll be sure to ask per your instructions.

Just be aware that some tires are directional. Be sure to know what you’re getting.

I'm getting the same tire as the original ones I have on my RV currently - the Michelin Aegis CrossClimate (which will begin to be phased out in September).  I specifically called Michelin this morning and the Michelin Aegis CrossClimate 2 (production started June 1st) are the new incarnation.

The original Aegis CrossClimate will cease production in September 2025, and the replacement Aegis CrossClimate 2 began production June 2025, so I'll be getting "fresh tires."

Thanks for the info, Cheryl. With the trips you make to Mexico every year, it’s wise to replace the tires at 5 years. I replaced my original tires with CrossClimate in 2021 just after purchasing Nocona in late 2020.  I think they had about 33,000 miles on them. Next year will make them 5 years old but I’ve only put about 10,000 miles on them so far. Think I’m going try and stretch them an extra year as they have been mostly covered while not being driven.

Since Michelin recommends tire replacement at 10 years, I don't think you would be taking any significant additional risk.

Oh, I thought they recommended 6 years?

The Michelin comment is accurate...from their RV Tire Guide (which you can download)...but what they are saying is basically that's the max you should go......but most experienced RV folks will recommend to follow the 6 year guide...beyond that and the risks increase (blowouts, etc.).....if the tires haven't been cared for properly (read the Guide) then even 6 years may be too long....

Michelin's tire warranty expires at six years.
If the manufacturer doesn’t have confidence in their product after six years, why should you?’

I'm pretty sure everyone here kept their LD after the warranty ran out!

Anyhow, the poster was talking about keeping the tires for an additional year, for a total of six years, the length of the warranty. Now I wonder why people would buy new tires after five years, when there is one more year of warranty coverage.
