Shroud
I have a 2001 26.5 RB AND JUST DEVELOPED A LEAK COMING INTO COACH THRU THE AC vent.  I saw the shroud had cracks so am wondering if those cracks in shroud can be the cause of the water coming thru ac unit?  I live in Tulsa OK and have has a massive amount of rain in past two months.  Thanks.

Our 2002 26.5 RB will do that sometimes if the water pools on the roof and gets deep enough that the condensation cannot drain out of the AC and onto the roof. As a fellow OKIE, we have experienced this twice in the last couple of months due to amount of rain and tend to not go exactly level when parking to allow the water to run off the roof.

I would:
* Remove the shroud and check the drain holes on the base of the a/c to make sure they are not blocked.
* Remove the celing plenum and tighten the four bolts that hold the unit in place. That will provide a better seal for the a/c's gasket (photo).

Living in Tulsa I'm sure you are aware also that running the a/c in real high humidity sometimes causes some drips.

First, welcome to the Neighborhood.  And secondly, a crack in the air conditioner shroud will not cause a leak.   The guidance described above should help solve this problem.  Best of luck.

Also if the crack in the shroud is not too severe you may be able to repair it with Eternabond tape.  Then check for water leaking after the next rain.  Our shroud on our 98~MB had a major crack in it during a trip to California from severe winds.  We repaired it with Eternabond tape to get us home to the PNW about 1200 miles.  We decided to replace the old one with a new shroud.

Thank you everyone!  Tightened the inside bolts (they were loose) and replaced the shroud.  Got some significant rain the past two days and NO LEAKS!
Thanks again for your help!
