Fiamma reassembly
Hi Folks. Last year in Late March-early April I managed to damage my Fiamma awning. At the time, we were leaving for an extended trip so I removed the whole works. I did post about this event,  and received some very  good info.

Now  I’ve started to put it all back together. I have my new parts, but I wonder if anyone knows the sequence of what goes where when? The bracket that everything hangs on is still in place.

I think the folding arms go next, then front end cap, the awning. The rear cap, the top cover, the folding arms into the rail, the braces that go to the coach, end caps for the rail. Am I on the right track?
Thank you,
Larry

Have you found these videos on the Fiamma website?   I'm not sure that they answer your question directly, but they might help.

You might find some helpful diagrams in the spare parts catalog:

Thank you Rich. Yes I’ve watched the videos plus some other You Tube ones, and I downloaded parts diagrams when I bought the parts. I just thought I’d check before I get too far and have to take it apart again.

Assemble the arms first and then installed the hinged cover if it was removed. Next the roller, with the fabric rolled on, is installed along with the left end cap to hold it in place. Make sure to lube the roller's bearing surfaces with silicone spray.
Pull the fabric out and slide the fabric's cord into the outer tray's groove, and then bolt the arms to the outer tray. A set of helping hands is helpful for this process.

Thank you,  Larry. I spent more time looking at the videos today, and what you just wrote helped me make sense of how it all goes together. I should be able to get it done.

Here’s an update:
I’ve installed the two extendable arms to the mounting bracket on the coach wall.
When I removed the arms. I had to drill out a pop rivet that was used to locate the shock absorber assembly to the mounting bracket. The arm that mounts to the left side is attached right above the coach door door so the rain gutter above the door is preventing me from installing a new pop rivet to that shock mount.
It helps to fold the arms in half and use Velcro or bungee cords to keep them folded for now.
I’ve attached the right side inner piece that includes the gear box to the mounting bracket.
There is also a pop rivet used to secure the bottom of this piece to the mounting bracket at the bottom.
Next I’ll install the cover to the right side piece mentioned above so I can install the other screw to secure that end.
I’ll use duct tape to secure the other end of the top cover loosely in place until I insert the awning tube into the gear box.
I might have to pull the arms out before I install the awning tube.
Once the tube is in place, I’ll install the left side piece that secures the awning tube to the mounts, and finish attaching the top cover.
I’ll take some pictures as I go in case anyone else needs them.

Well we had a break to attend a reunion, and now we’ve got the awning attached to the coach again. I just need to pop rivet the end pieces, attach the awning arms to the outside rail, and make sure it’s adjusted properly.
I do have a question about the arms and where they need to be located relative to the outside rail. How far do I slide the arm into the rail?
Thank you,

If the mounting location of the arms were not marked before removing them, you will need to make the best educated guess as to their locations and then adjust them after the fabric is installed.
The arms ned to be installed before the fabric can be connected to the tray.
Roll the fabric up, hang the arms in your best guess location (to be adjusted later). leave the arms fully extended and support the arms on short ladders, unroll the fabric on top of the arms, and then slide the tray onto the fabric and the arms. An extra set or two of hands will be helpful.

Thank you, Larry. My situation is a bit different since my awning self-deployed after my accident last spring. The winch mechanism was destroyed by an inadvertent contact with the barn door opening. The drive shaft snapped, and it all came down. There was a severe thunderstorm approaching , so I just removed the end caps and the entire arm assemblies from the rig and rolled up the awning with the outer rail attached in order to get the rig back inside. At this point, I have the arms installed, the awning in place and partly rolled up. I need to install the arms into the outer rail, followed by the legs and their end caps, and then get the arms where they belong as I roll up the awning. I think I see how to do that. I'll follow up with my results.

Thanks to Larry W’s comment about marking where the arms were located on the outer rail we are finished with the reinstallation of our awning. I took a careful look at the rail and found some faint impressions of where the washers sat when the arms were in place. Exactly 191/4” inches from the edge of the rail to the center of the bolt. So thanks to all who gave us ideas and assistance. We’re back in business.
