Safety-Walk Tape on Roof
In a recent thread, Larry showed a photo of slip resistant tape he had installed on the roof. I would like to do the same but was wondering how the roof studs were located? Will a stud finder work through the aluminum as it’s not obvious to me where the studs are located?

When walling on the roof, pay attention to how the roof feels underfoot. The firmer spots are the roof joists, the softer, springy sections are in between the joists. The joists run across the roof from side to side.

We have a rear bath model, but I think the idea will be the same. Maybe this will help.  We had Todd take photos of various stages of our build.  The pix he took show the three bulkheads and the span of wall studs that run between them.   While I do not have photos of the roof rafters, it's a pretty good guess to think that the rafters align with the wall studs.  Locate the bulkheads in your model, and measure accordingly, and I think you will be pretty close to determining where those rafters are.  All models have a bulkhead just aft of the cab.  I'll bet that there is also another either fore or aft of the side entry door.  In the pix I have attached, one can see the three bulkheads because they are larger dimensionally, and are reinforced with braces and bolts.  There must also be a stud at either end of a window placement, but those might fall at a different spacing in relation to the bulkhead studs and the other wall studs, if that makes any sense.  Hopefully some of these other folks can weigh in with more details.

Great photos, Ray! If you have more photos of your build, may I ask you to post them. Thanks.

You can also locate the roof  joists by finding the small nail heads in the. Interior ceiling. They were installed into the joists to hold the ceiling panels in place while the adhesive cured .

Sorry, JOR.  Those are my only pix of the build.  Todd took them at our request.
