Replacement Cover
Hi,
I want to replace or fix this cover.  Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Trying to remove and replace the door and frame will cause more damage to the body and paint. I have no idea if the door and frame are available anymore..
I consider this to be cosmetic damage and would fill the broken edge using Bondo or an epoxy that has been thickened with glass beads

Larry, I don’t understand why it would be difficult to remove that part and replace it with the one from Amazon.  Seems much simpler than using bondo and paint.  Look for to your feedback

I believe that is the cover for the dump hose storage. On mine, I have removed the corrugated tube as it wasn’t used.

I'm guessing you have not removed many items from your LD. Like everything else, it is probably glued with a lot of polyurethane that will be hard to remove without damaging the surrounding paint..
The existing cover is not structurally damaged, it's mostly cosmetic.  Repair is easy compared to removing and replacing the cover, which may turn into a major project.

A new cover, if available, is going to be white or grey; a repaired cover is only going to have a short section that is the wrong color.

You’re correct, not many items from the exterior of our LD like in this post.   On the other hand we’ve replaced some weather stripping, basement door seals, basement door latches, window trim inserts(?), all the clearance light lens, undercoated any exterior wood underneath the RV, replaced the check valve on the city water connection, and resealed the taillights to control water intrusion.   We’ve upgraded the front and rear sway bars and the front steering stabilizer bar. (These were a challenge for us because we did this without lifting the RV).  We upgraded the tow hitch bolts to Grade 8 bolts.  There’s a few other outside projects that we’ve done but I can’t remember them right now without looking at our records.

I’m hopeful we don’t have to replace the parts like Larry has mentioned.

Yes it is the dump hose storage.   I am thankful to everyone's feedback!
I'll do some more thinking about how I plan to tackle it.

I like Larry's suggestion: fill the broken part with Bondo and paint to match.

If you do decide to remove the whole thing, use a razor blade or X-acto knife to carefully cut around the periphery of whatever you take off. Otherwise, you're likely to find it pulling up a ragged edge of paint with it. But I'd just patch and paint. It'll be a lot easier and less conspicuous to color match that small repair than to put in a brand new door and try to repaint it to match the body color.

I sourced one on eBay same maker as the original.  It fits perfectly. We could even take the door and put it on the new frame.    description on ebay 4 1/2 inch black hole white sewer hose hatch cover  5000 for d&w Maxi-tube  $16.72 with tax

Hi Joansie;  Good repair!  I had a similar situation on a friends '89 where the metal hatch door for the built in power cord had rusted and broken off. I cut a larger hole on the side and put in a more modern door and hinged cover. I replaced the plug on the power cord with a larger 'with pull handle' plug (Camco).
I took a piece of the old blue painted wall to a 'big box store' and they color matched a small sample jar of acrylic outdoor paint. I applied the paint with a brush. The paint matched really closely.  I applied clear spray polyurethane over the new hatch, to preserve the acrylic better, and appear more glossy  You could paint that rim that is white.
Another approach is to get a small sampler of acrylic paints and mix your own to match. Amazon.com: Shuttle Art Acrylic Paint Set, 16 x12ml Tubes Artist Quality Non...
