Fridge Ad Naseum. June 15, 2018, 11:04:07 am No AC items wotk in house. Checked fuses but all are fine. LP works but fights back a lot. Please indulge me. 1989 LD.

It is best to check them by switching each one fully to "off" and then back to "on". I don't know if a rig of that vintage had an automatic transfer switch. Does it have a generator and if so, do you have to plug the shore power into a generator outlet or does it happen automatically? Do you have a multimeter, know how to use it and are comfortable working with live AC power?Art

Start at the electrical source, then the power center - shore power lines coming in, then go from there (to outlets and lights).I know you are putting this rig back together so I don't know if you have dc power working yet but that needs checking out also.We had original electricity setup which meant no dc receptacles except inside a hidden panel in dash (took a while to find that one). All lights are DC - though you should have a charger/converter which charges your battery and converts shore/generator power to DC. May/may not have inverter if a previous owner installed it.Let us know what power center you have and if you get access to behind thtebpower center setup pics help.Ours had a lot of modifications by the original owners and that changed how effective answers were (answers having been given for stock installations).JaneSent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

To be specific, the fridge, the furnace, and the water heater all require 12 VDC to operate, even when running on propane. It's not something one would probably think of... but when you realize that all these appliances have little brains that control when to make sparks and when to open and close electrically operated propane valves, it makes sense. 4 Likes
