Shower Leaves Me Dry June 04, 2018, 08:20:24 pm Not quite convinced this is technical. More like Wot u say Willis?So I cannot figure out why my shower head refuses to deliver h20 . . . The taps are no problem but the snakey thing is. There is nothing one can do to redirect the water. With only the shower line open, am I not giving the water enough time to reach the head?I anticipate some crushing innuendo along with the solution. Let the games begin.

Try turning the face of the shower head kinda like a windex bottles “off” feature that helps to prevent constant dripping. If nothing else, simply remove the shower head entirely and see if water comes out of the “snake thingy” once the tap is turned on.By the way, that’s a pretty primitive shower head. If you get water through the hose then there is something wrong with the shower head, or your use of it.If no water from the hose then the problem is upstream of the shower head. Next step would be to remove the hose from the faucet and see if you get water at the connection to the faucet. If not then the problem is upstream from there. Etc. etc.We don't have your model LD so I am unfamiliar with that faucet and how it works. But we did have that shower head for awhile. It has a shutoff valve in it, to allow water conservation during showering. The valve is operated by rotating the perforated part of the shower head clockwise and counter-clockwise using the triangular depression at the roughly 6 o'clock position. 1 Likes
Re: Shower Leaves Me Dry Reply #10 – June 05, 2018, 12:11:52 pm Hi. Well that is a nice picture of the OEM shower head, and it shows the spray is turned off. With the faucets turned on, water will come out of the faucet into the sink. This model has a diverter like many tub bath spouts in sticks'n- bricks homes have. A small valve behind the hose attachment location at the faucet needs to be pulled up, it shuts off the faucet and instead sends the water through the hose to the shower head, which needs the spray turned on. I did have the knob break off on my '99 TKB, so you may need to find a new faucet with a diverter. They are nearly impossible to find in the beige color, the only ones I've found were chrome color. I ended up tapping a hole in the post (already there) for a 6-32 screw, and bought a beige curtain string knob that fit, and still works. If indeed you need a replacement faucet, give the mothership a try for a faucet. RonB p.s. I'll go take a picture in a while, and post that.
Re: Shower Leaves Me Dry Reply #11 – June 05, 2018, 12:46:38 pm A few years ago, I replaced the original bath faucet/shower diverter in my 2003 TK with this one (or a very similar faucet) :Empire Brass Company Biscuit Lavatory Diverter with Smoke Knobs - Lavatory...I also replaced the original shower head with one with a "biscuit-colored" stainless steel hose and shower head; don't recall the specifics, but a search should bring up something similar. The set up works, but it's limited to the amount of puny "flow" that the 2.0 Whisper King pump can produce.

The first time I used my TK's shower head, the pump couldn't keep up with the flow of the LD provided shower head, and I replaced it with a spray head with smaller/fewer holes. The spray force was much better. It still remains very good, and uses less water per minute. I still have the same pump. The valve you used; do you pull up on the shower hose to divert water to the spray head? Or is there another valve I don't see? I found this one, It is white plastic (not bisque as I would call the beige), but also doesn't have an apparent valve. DF-PL720S-WT White RV Bathroom Dura Faucet W/Shower Hose Diverter One valve I found, for an RV tub application, has a diverter valve like residential faucets have, but the hose attaches below the spout. However, since fast "Navy showers" are SOP in the rig, luxuriating in cascades of hot water are not the expectation!Yes, the diverter pulls up from the middle of the faucet, i.e., at the connection at the bottom of the hose to the shower head. The diverter in my faucet doesn't seal particularly well, so there's a little drip from the faucet when the diverter is pulled up to activate the shower head.

If water is available (full hookups) 4 gallons or so of hot water is pretty luxurious. The slower usage rate lets the hot water heater keep up better. My diverter drips a little, and so does the shower head. Handy to remind you that it is on, and to keep the hot water in the lines a little warm when paused. RonB.

As others said the diverter directs the water to the sink faucet or the shower head depending on the position.Where the hose is attached - above the sink between the faucets - is the diverter. That hard plastic piece the hose is attached to. Pull up and water comes out the shower head, push down and it comes out of the sink.The diverter moves something like 1/2 - 1” when changing positions.On ours it is hard to move that diverter- it takes a fair amount of force to pull it up. If you don’t get it up all the way, water comes out of both places. So yours might also need to be pulled up very hard (eg put muscle into it). That hose just screws on, so easy to take off - to see if water comes out is the diverter (to where the shower hose gets attached), and as you saw the shower head gets unscrewed to see if water can come thru the hose. If the sprayer itself is clogged, soaking in white vinegar for several hours / overnight is one cure for hard water residue. JaneTaking off the head to see if you can get water out of the hose might help figure things out.
