Finally found my Lazy Daze - 2006 Mid-Bath
Considering how much I've leaned on this forum and its members like @Ed & Margee in my long search and education on the Lazy Daze brand, I am thrilled to say I've finally found mine - a beautiful 2006 gray Mid-Bath with 41k miles, in incredible condition. Fun fact: she (name still TBD) was originally owned by @Dave Gingrich, whom I know was part of the original Great Lakes LD group and a Hero member of this very forum. I feel honored to be a part of her story!

My twin sister and I picked her up from North Carolina, arriving between two snowstorms and working out way back to Texas by dodging and weaving the next storm, escaping with mere hours to spare and fighting high winds with 40mph gusts. 7 states later, she got us home safe and sound, with lots of encouragement and support from Ed & Margee. A couple of lessons I learned firsthand on our maiden voyage:
 1.  (I knew better from this forum) Arrive before dark! Our stop for supplies and an extra push to get ahead of the storm put our day 1 arrival time a couple hours after sunset, and much to my dismay I had unknowingly booked a spot in an unlit, hilly, and heavily wooded area of the park, where the previous snowstorm's snow and ice had not yet melted. My LD got stuck briefly in the snow, tires spinning and all, with a sprinkling of ice-skating  :o . It took me a full day for my nervous system to recover.

2. Plans will change! I prebooked all of the RV parks for this excursion, checked forecasts daily, sanity checked miles per day, and even had plan B parks identified if we undershot the day due to fatigue. All three parks we booked we didn't end up staying in, even the plan B ones. There is nothing I regret as these changes kept us safe, but it is a great reminder to be flexible on this RV journey.

3. Double-check the GPS-suggested route - Waze suggested a verrry RV-unfriendly highway 31 in TX to get home; I'm glad we checked it as it would have made for a very stressful last leg of the trip home.

Talk about an introduction into RV life!  :D I am so thankful this long-standing community exists where I can learn from the experts. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly and now the REAL fun begins for me! All the best...

Welcome back to Texas Cheryl. Your first trip sounds like quite an adventure. Weather and long days can really test you, especially with a new rig. Glad to hear you made it home safely—those first trips always come with stories and lessons.

I’m guessing your next trip will be much easier and much more relaxing.🤞

Welcome to the FOLD. Enjoy that new to you treasure. Keep your eye out for rallies that you may like to attend. South East Lazy Daze (SELD) is a very nice, welcoming group. They have a deep knowledge base and very helpful members. Great Lakes Lazy Daze (GLLD) is the same with overlapping membership.  Check the regional group pages here or on Facebook for more info on rallies.

Thank you, TLBH20! I will check out those groups! And funny enough - I tried to email you this morning through the forum as RonB indicated you may be a great resource for restoring the couch in my mid-bath (previous owner removed and added chairs) as you did the same, but I received an error that your inbox was full. May I connect with you to discuss? Thanks in advance!

Congrats on a successful first trip.  You found the Plan A/B/C routes and stops strategy early on.  Great!
And you know to take GPS with a grain of salt.  No hurry on the name,  she'll tell you when she's ready.
Welcome aboard.

Welcome and so glad you found your coach!

Good to see another Austinite.  Kim and I are both from Austin but now reside in New Mexico.  Certainly do not miss the traffic!
