Recommendation for Tow Bar Installation
Happy New Year, All!   I am seeking recommendations for reliable and knowledgable installer for a Roadmaster tow bar baseplates installation on our 2025 Ford Maverick.  Prefer recommendations for California, western Nevada, and/or Western Arizona.

Thank you in advance.

I had my CR-V rigged for towing at Bill’s Quality Auto in Simi Valley, CA in 2013, and have no problems. This included tow plate, tow bar, auxiliary brake system, breakaway,  and dedicated tail light bulbs. I still use them for maintenance on the LD and on my other vehicles.  Cars are our profession; customer service is our passion! | Bill's Quality...

Great!  Thanks, Keith.  We're headed that way in January.  I'll give them a call.  I'll tell 'em you sent me!

Arrow Trailer Supply in Ontario, California did a great job on my Blue Ox set-up, auxiliary braking and battery charger while towing, on my 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid.  They are familiar with Lazydaze coaches.  RV & Trailer Supplies | Arrow Trailer Supplies

I have a ‘22 Maverick and have been towing since Jan ‘23 and it’s worked out great. I too chose Roadmaster because the Blue OX base plate for the Maverick requires cutting holes in the black plastic bumper cover and I didn’t want to count on someone cutting them center. I can’t recommend the shop who installed my base plate because yes, they put the base plate on correctly but screwed up the braking system. Here’s where it gets interesting. They recommend the RVI box on the floor system then set it up wrong and this was almost catastrophic. Remember your Maverick has ACTIVE HYBIRD brakes (I’m assuming you have a hybrid) NOT HYDRAULIC brakes. The shop set the braking system wrong (hydraulic) so first leaving the shop pulled the Maverick around the neighborhood a bit to test, seemed fine until I was about to make a left onto I10 and all 4 wheels locked up and I held up traffic trying to figure out what just happened. They continued to lock up as I crawled back to the shop and few days later made them take the RVI system back. I ended up going with the Demco Stay in Play. Costs more to have installed but way better choice for the Maverick and the nerves.
A few friends on this platform have used this shop: Eyers Hitch company in Santa Clara for their tow cars. Just check to make sure they’ve set up Mavericks.

A friend had the same problem with his Maverick when the installer incorrectly set up the RVI brake unit. The brakes locked up when he tried slowing down on the freeway. I would hope by now this issue is known by installers and they have learn the correct way to set up the toad brake unit on hybrid cars.
Is your first name John, and your last name begins with an R? Just wondering.
