Cor2man,

Thank you for taking the time to post all of the details of your repair. Excellent work! I am sure it will last a long time.

Actually, I am planning to save my original caps. I am rebuilding any damage/cracks with epoxy. Hopefully they are sturdy enough after to continue to serve their purpose, my biggest hurdle is deciding how to reinstall them (see my seperate thread).

Me being in NC the factory isn’t really an option, and I got my rig for 15k so spending thousands on some rot repair wouldn’t make sense. Hopefully I do a quality job to last another decade.

As far as cost, it will be hundreds, but that’s well worth  having an awesome RV in my mid twenties, me and the wife Love this thing.
I just found my end cap and back wall is rotted too. I had it fixed last year but they clearly didn’t seal it right because I started finding spots that weren’t sealed. Now I also have electrolysis really bad on the back wall. I have my work cut out for me. Your pictures are helpful. I have the 30’ IB in the same color as yours. I was quoted 20,000 at a repair place for them to do the whole back wall. I’m pretty sure my ex and I can do it, he’s a carpenter so he will know what to do.

Hi Wendi;  Other members have rebuilt rot in the back areas.  Here Craig Parsons (CraigP) added some photos of his '97 T/K. Very similar to my '99 T/K. I hope mine doesn't have the rot!  Finding the Dry rot   reply #5
He also broke his rear window (backed into a tree), and when the need arises, I plan to do the one piece, dual thermal pane, That I don't currently have. The back windows are poor insulation. but of course the main LD feature is the windows!   Hard way to fix a Rear Window Leak
