(Update) Inverter green light is on without power to the outlet

My 2011 27RK has the front cabinet option (no bunk). Above the TV are the antenna booster (still working) and the inverter on/off switch. When I move the inverter switch to ON the green light comes on but I do not have power to the outlet. When on shore power the outlet works. Any suggestions?

What electrical item do you have plugged into that inverter outlet to check for power? We have the same setup though in a 31' TB

A power strip with the TV and a fan plugged in.

I would remove the fan.....it may be too much for the inverter

I plugged a couple small things into the inverted plug. No luck.

Hi T4Halo; I don't know what type of inverter your 2011 has. Likely it is not a "True sine wave" inverter, and more likely a modified output, which is more of a square wave output with chokes to prevent high frequency harmonics from showing up at the plug outlet. Most plug strips I've seen have MOV's to prevent surges, and that may not 'play well' with your inverter.
So, has this configuration ever worked? and is now not working? I'm guessing that you may have a Xantrex 450W inverter. The green light may show that there is power to the inverter, and that it is on. There could still be a fuse or circuit breaker on the inverter itself, for the output, that needs to be reset. Plug strips and fans may not have been anticipated by Lazy Daze and could have tripped a circuit breaker on the inverter unit.
I don't know where that inverter is located. If it what I remember from the 2011 time period, it is pretty large, about 30 pounds and bulky. RonB

In my 2008 RK the inverter is located behind the water pump. Vince showed me that there is a reset button on the left side of the inverter. It’s a little difficult to see. Hope this helps.

Hi Nikki; That is very good information, that I hope will help out T4halo, and others who have similar inverters. The surge current of a motor (in this case a fan) can momentarily exceed the inverter ratings, enough to trip protective devices in the inverter. Especially in inverters intended for sensitive electronic loads.
For fan users a separate small plug in inverter is easier to handle and usually can be plugged into a cigarette lighter type socket. Even better is a 12 VDC fan that runs off of a cigarette lighter 12v with no conversion loss of power.

Thank you for all the help. I will pull the bottom drawer tomorrow and see if the inverter is behind the water pump.

The power strip we are using has been used for the last year with both the tv and fan plugged in. I usually plug my cpap in to the power strip as well. We’ve never had an issue in the past.

Will the reset button on the inverter be easy to spot?

Good suggestions on checking the breaker, but I wonder how your LD is wired. The outlet should only be powered by the inverter unless the stock inverter was replaced with a pass-thru inverter. Any chance a previous owner installed an aftermarket inverter?
The Factory TV's inverter can burn out. I replaced a couple of them over the years on LDs with the entertainment centers.

The reset button on my Xantrex Inverter is located on the left side of the unit... way in the back and near the bottom of the unit. It's a square button. Impossible to see without a mirror. Your inverter may be installed differently.

The inverter in my 2011 27’ RK was right where Nikki said it was, behind the water pump under the front closet. I’ll try to post the pictures I took. After shutting off the inverter and turning it back on it flashed all the lights for probably two minutes. I dont know if it was resetting itself or what it was doing. Finally just the on light stayed on. I removed the power strip, the red light on the power strip was flashing and it would not charge my phone continuously. I plugged my phone charger into the inverted outlet and all was good. I removed my charger and plugged in the TV and it works. I believe the power strip surged and shut off the inverter. After resetting the inverter I now know to only run the television on that circuit.

It’s hard to believe the power strip caused this problem unless the power strip is defective.
A surge protector shouldn’t cause the breaker to trip.
I would replace the power strip.
