House Door Width
What made Lazy Daze designers choose the width of the house door? I find it to be a bit narrow and notice there are no RVIA safety regulations regarding the width of the house door. Joe

Hi Joe;  Narrow works better for the strength of the structure, and useable furniture surrounding it.  My compact T/K is pretty tight. Lazy daze bought the door and surround from somebody else, locks and all.
In about 2006-2007 the door was sourced from somewhere else, and I believe it was wider. I know that the window in the door got wider then. Maybe just a few 3-4 inches.  The door handle and lock changed then also.
My old door could be opened by pushing down on the handle, possibly evicting someone holding onto the door at speed.  The new latch requires lifting up on the handle to open it. FMVSS 206, February 2007, may require that safer style of latch in newer motorhomes and trailers. (of course there shouldn't be anybody riding in a trailer).
