Hold on and see what Deb comes up with and how long it takes her to get it. No vendors I know of keep stock in house. They drop ship from Dometic. If Dometic is shipping any legitimate dealer will ship you one. If they are not it becomes a matter of how long you will wait and whether you can get your money back.

Maybe Dometic is shipping.

You are likely to get your money back from Camping World or PPL. You will not get your money back from the vendor claiming 50 in stock and no street address. Just an opinion.

Thanks, Ron for researching and providing a link.

I definitely want a 3-way so that I can still use propane.

However, your link led me to a model that is a fraction smaller for Norcold that might work.

I'm in touch with a local RV Sales and Service center that was one of 3 recommended on the Dometic website for my area. I've asked if they can purchase the RM 3762 for me. They asked for the product number on the RM 3662 and will get back to me.

It's lunchtime right now, but I will call them in an hour or so and ask about the Norcold as well

If it works out, I'll post the dealer's details in case someone else can use the info. If they can't help I'll try the other recommendations (one is actually on the list for Dometic and Norcold).

Some GOOD news!

I can get the Norcold N7XFR (right-hand hinge) at a dealership about 20 miles away TOMORROW if I order today! The price is $2055.59.

The BAD news!

My rig is too old for them to install it, so I have to find a shop or mobile tech who can.  I can get my younger brother to pick it up with his truck and one of his trailers. This is the dealership where he purchased his travel trailer.

I can put it in the backyard storage room until I find an installer.

As I read it you need an N7X3FR. Check for a propane connection when you pick it up.

Current status:

I'm going to order the Norcold but I've told the dealer I will order within 2 weeks (they say there is plenty of stock). I want to coordinate the fridge arrival with the availability of the mobile tech. Plus I'm going to be out of town for a few days.

The Norcold is a bit narrower than the RM 3662, so I'll pick up some rigid foam insulation to fill the gaps.

I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of Mobile Techs now. The other RV dealership referred one tech, the other is close by and is an acquaintance of my younger brother.

That's it for now.

Electric and Propane are what I have now, so I'm happy. :-)

May I ask how much battery capacity you have? I have two 100Ah Battleborns but not enough solar to support a DC fridge when boondocking.

The DC is only used when driving. Battery capacity not relevant. Power comes straight from the alternator and propane is off.

A propane fridge is never run on DC without a running engine. You could leave it running for short fueling stops.

With mine a relay cuts off the DC heater when the ignition is off. Great for gas stops.

If a 3 way is available I’d sure give it a look.

Status Update:

I finally found a Tech who can/will do the job. I had seen his truck around the area but I also met a relative of his at my local state park and she recommended him.

He has a 4.8-star rating and will work me into his schedule on a week's notice. I should be good to go at the end of June or the beginning of July.

The new fridge arrives this Friday and installation is scheduled for the following Monday.

I may have some freebie parts available for anyone with an RM3662. If anyone needs something I can easily salvage, please let me know. I'll only ask for shipping costs. I may be keeping the woodgrain door panels if I can get them to fit. :-)

Hi @debinvenice, would you have an extra freezer wire shelf and extra freezer door bin?   The small one.   If you have the fridge compartment door bin, that too.

Yes to both. I'll send you a private message with pics a bit later.

Warning, shipping is around $30-40 from Texas due to the long size (too long for a padded envelope). I have to purchase the box from UPS. All should fit into one box. 🙂
