Winterizing without bypass valves
I would like to winterize my 2000 LD this year. I have been taking it into a rv service center the previous two years. Prices keep going up for this service.  I had to replace my gray water valve in the spring, suspecting water remained in the tank.

My lazy daze lived in Arizona prior to my ownership, I live in South Central Kansas and it appear we have mild winters up to a point, below zero for weeks at a time is becoming more common for us now.

Reading many previous post it appears most folks have installed a bypass valve for the fresh water intake line going into the the water pump and a bypass valve for the hot water heater. I have neither by pass valves installed.

My intention is always to do it in the spring before I sterilize the fresh water tank and fill up. Yet, this has not happened. I suppose I am not comfortable removing the circuit board.

I do have the blow out hose from the factory.

After last use prior to putting into my indoor storage unit I did the following:
Drained the hot water tank and put the plug back in,
Drained fresh water tank (with valve left slight open now)
and of course drained the grey and black tank after flushing a couple of gallons of water thru.

Would the following winterizing procedure protect the water system enough?
The blow out method (with an oil-free) air compressor (not exceeding 25 psi) utilizing the city water inlet connection located outside the LD. Turn on the water pump and cycle thru the cold then hot water facets.  Taking the screens off prior.
Clean out the filter for the water pump and put a little antifreeze into it.
Drain the gray water tank to get the remaining water that has been purged out of the system.
Use a gallon or so of rv anti freeze to put in the black tank and grey water tank and pour into drains for p traps?

Would like to tackle this over the weekend. Thank you for your input, it is appreciated and helps me tremendously.

Adding a water heater bypass doesn't involve anything with a circuit board, but it does involve disassembling part of the passenger side couch in the MB floorplan.  If you plan to own the coach for a few years in an area with cold winters, I think adding the bypass is worth the hassle.

Kimberly, I just winterized after returning from Morro Bay (we live in the SoCal mountains).  I followed the blow out procedure spelled out in the factory manual.  No bypass valves are needed.  It took me a couple hours to complete the procedure and is the same process I have used the last two years since purchasing Nocona.

Good idea to pour a little RV antifreeze in the P-traps (don't forget the shower) but not necessary to put it in the gray/black tanks as long as they are drained and you leave the dump valves slightly open for any residual.

I just picked up an '07 RB and plan on winterizing this weekend using compressed air.  The procedure in the manual is dependent on a blow out hose installed on the outlet side of the water pump.  I haven't checked for this yet, but if it's not present I had planned on using the same procedure you outlined (which is what I've always done with past rigs).

In LDs, the air winterizing air blow-out screws onto the city water connection. It is downstream from the water pump.
