Onan Generator pan support failure
The generator pan c channel brace on my 26.5 Rb is failing. Looks like the spot welds need to be repaired.  Anybody else had this issue before?

Later model generators frames bolt into the floor, not sure how your generator is supported.
If a weld is broken, it needs to be fixed and possibly reinforced to prevent it from happening in the future,.
You rig has a lot of miles and has been pounded down the Alcan at least once.
Expect to find all sorts of little problems. Check the holding tank's mounts, as well as the propane tank.
The entry steps often suffer from looseness and possible rot beneath the step.
Tighten all the frame bolts.

Holding takes are good, entrance steps feel firm but I do need to check the body mounts.

For what it's worth, this issue hasn't been discussed in recent years according to my memory (which has an increasing amount of rust).  I did a quick search of the LDO Forum at http://www.lazydazeowners.com/index.php?action=search and didn't find anything to help you.  I've not counted all the bolts under a LD that need inspection every 1-2 years, but I'd bet there's nearly 40 of them if you include the bolts on the towing hitch.  It's not something I find particularly fun to do.

Gotcha, the failed piece on mine was held on my very “frugal” welds to begin with.  As far as checking bolts my other hobby is off-roading a worn out Jeep Wrangler so I’m fairly used to spending large amounts of time under vehicles!

Just trying to thoroughly go through this thing before we start taking it out.

You know, you might check if the generator mounts show signs of originally having been attached otherwise. Perhaps for some reason this welded c-channel was added as a repair. Another attachment option would be to drill and tap the chassis beam and bolt the piece back...

This c channel was for sure original.

On my 97RB the main steel support just above your c channel was splitting in half with a vertical break. I had an exhaust guy put a weld on it while re-doing the exhaust. I would disconnect your house batteries before welding, just to be on the safe side.

Got it welded up yesterday, generator is considerable smoother during start/stop and when turning on the AC! Almost time to go camping! Drove through town yesterday and the front brake calipers got sticky on me...so as always 1 more thing before it’s ready to hit the road!
