Question about Extend a Stay and like valves
I am looking to mod my propane system so I can use a gas grill.  I did a search on Amazon for "Extend-a-Stay" and came up with a Marshall Gas Controls product by that name and a similar products by Camco and Sturgi.  Is there a preferred product.  Also they do not look that difficult a DYI job.  I would appreciate any comments before diving into the job.  (I have worked on automotive fuel lines and the like but never gas lines)

I prefer the Marshall products but don't know who actually owns it now, seem like Camco is being many RV parts manufacturers
When installing the device, to provide the space for it, usually the propane line needs to be cut, shortened and flared.
You need the tools and skills to cut and flare the 3/8" copper tubing, making a gas tight connection.

My experience with Extend-a-stays is that people do not use them much for their BBQs if the propane tank is on the driver's side.
It requires a very long hose to use the BBQ on the passenger side, near the coach door.
Our LD's Extend-a-Stay has been used for connecting to the extra propane tank.

We had an Extend-A-Stay put on our Lazy Daze prior to camp hosting at a small BLM campground in northern California.  That way, we could use a portable propane tank and drive it the 15+ miles to be refilled rather than having to break down the RV and drive it each time we needed a refill.

We DID use ours for our BBQ, too.  We didn't use a long hose, though...we simply barbequed on the driver's side.  It wasn't that big of a deal for us.
