Removing the factory Satellite Dish & TV Antenna

My 2006 30' Lazy Daze came equipped with a Wingard Satellite Dish and a TV Antenna; both are working fine.

I recently purchased a Starlink Mini and feel the other two items are no longer necessary. I'm thinking about removing them, plugging both holes so I will have room to install more panels in the future. I currently only have one 100W panel.

Just wondering exactly what I can remove without impacting anything else in my rig. I have the entertainment center above the cab. which has what looks to be some tv connections, see last picture.

Has anyone removed their satellite dish and tv antenna? Any assistance and tips on what to remove exactly would be appreciated.

Many have removed the antennas. Remove them, cut the wires, and cover the holes with sheet aluminum, gluing them down with polyurethane sealant and then installing stainless steel sheet metal screws around the perimeter of the patches.
The TV interior outlet needs to have its power removed by pulling a fuse or removing the outlet and disconnecting its hot wire.
The downside of removing the TV antenna is not being able to watch local stations, which can be useful in weather emergencies.
A 30's roof is a big piece of real estate; you can put a lot of solar up there. Be careful how much weight you add, the pre-2008 30' models have a limited cargo capacity, it's easy to overload them.

Just a note - if you intend to use the tv with internet streaming services you will either need a Roku or similar device or a smart TV.

I also have an unused satellite dish I'd like to remove so will be following your post. I do use the TV antenna for local broadcasts, as Larry mentioned, so it will stay. Just a note, if screwing SS screws into aluminum, do be gentle so as to not strip the aluminum.

Just so that I'm clear, Starlink will totally replace the satellite dish completely, correct?

However, what I'm hearing is that the TV antenna will still be necessary in order to get local broadcasts from wherever I'm located?

I was thinking to remove everything that was originally installed and only have Starlink. I've been using it since last Aug and it seems to be able to find everything I want to watch and more.

My concern when removing these items, is that I only want to remove what is necessary. Is there a diagram that shows how the two systems are installed, Satellite Dish and TV Antenna? Are they completely independent systems, or are they connected?

Any streaming TV app can be accessed with the Starlink, as long as you have subscription to the service and a smart TV.
Local TV is normally not available online unless you use the individual station's online app. Using the TV antenna the best way to access local stations.
The TV antenna and satellite antennas are not connected, there is no published diagram of how they are installed. Both antennas can be totally removed without issues, assuming that is what you want.
If me, the satellite dish would go and the TV antenna remain. You would still have plenty of roof real estate for added solar panels.

Good advice, thanks, I'll keep the TV Antenna... Just need to make sure I don't remove anything related to it.
