Converter
Is it normal for the convertor fan to run continuously? We have 400 watts of solar so normally don't have it turned on but whenever we do the fan runs continuously..

No, the converter fan should only come on when it is charging a deeply discharged battery.
The converter's fan temperature sensor is probably defective. There are better converters available.

Is the fan running when on shore power or when the generator is being used? I ask because you mentioned 400 watts of solar.
You say the fan runs when the solar is turned on? What are you turning on?

Hi SeaSideBB; I'll add to Larry's comment;  You may already have an upgraded convertor. The LD factory was using a 75 Amp rated convertor at first (about 2016?) and the fan ran continuously.  Customers complained about the fan noise. The factory changed to the slightly lower rated 65 Amp convertor that had a thermally controlled fan, that in most instances doesn't come on.  A heavy load, a deeply discharged battery pack for instance, or some obstruction to the cooling air flow right around the convertor, might cause it to stay on more.
   I am installing a high 12vdc load (12v. roof air conditioner) that will stress out my convertor, so the cooling path has been enhanced. The PD 4655 already has two fans. Both fans go on and off together when needed to control heat.  RonB

My 2016 MB had the parallax 75 amp converter and the fan runs continuously when plugged into shore power (or generator running). I believe they used that converter until 2018 or so.
