Water pump
Hi All , it’s Mema again, got my running board and water heater taken care of 😅. ;)  Just took it in to a local RV repair shop. I figured by the time it took us to figure it all out,  at our age and the shapes we are in, figured just break down and get it done.
Plus, my sister and I split all costs.
But have a simpler project, I 🤔?  Replacing the water pump.  Just want to pull old one out and replace with similar one.  I have all the numbers for old one. Will it be that easy to take out and replace?  Or I am I biting off more then I can chew?

Maybe some can recommend one that is most compatible?   Thank you!   Or if anyone has replaced one recently, and how did it go?   Thanks in advance!!!! Mema

Hi Mema;  Yes that simple!  Just hand tighten the two fittings. Complications can arise by over tightening those ancient plastic parts, and they can form a hairline crack and leak.   RonB   Welcome to the group with your heirloom Lazy Daze!

You might find a lot of info using the forum Search function. It lives in the house icon on the tool bar at the top of the page.

Mema, I'm pretty sure that part number is still the one you want for replacement. Amazon is your friend...

As Jon indicates, it's the same number. Here's a link to Amazon: water pump

Pretty much any RV water pump will work. Also, you might consider another brand or pump, the Remco Aqua Jet for example. Pricey though. Here's a link: Aqua Jet

It's held in place by four screws. It is awkward to remove and replace as there is not much room under there. I think the screws require a 1/4" socket. When you install your new one you can reorient it for easier access and adjustment. The screws can go anywhere on the floor.

Thank you!  I will order from Amazon.  I remember reading somewhere how LD gets credit when buying from them. But don’t remember where?   Can you refresh my memory or send link.

Mema, that water pump is not the original, and fittings were probably replaced at the time to mate to it properly. So, it might not be that old, if you can find when it was done. Is the pump giving problems? If not, it is one of the items where a spare is a good thing to carry along.

This may be obvious, but... unless someone has installed a cutoff valve between the water tank and the pump, disconnecting the pump will result in a gusher. You'll want to drain the water tank before you do this job.

Hi MEMA;  Umm, you wrote " how LD gets credit when buying from them."  I hope you know that the factory went completely out of business over three years ago. Sad but true, there is no factory, and most all of the LD specific parts are unavailable.  Todd Miller as the past employee of Lazy Daze still has connections to some of the suppliers that LD used, and still has some parts that he will sell you.  RonB

Are you thinking about if you order from Amazon from the link at the top of this site,  the LD group gets a bit of funding that goes for the upkeep of this site?

Thanks for that Joel. I was thinking of Lazy Daze the factory, not LD the forum.  Purchases through our link does provide for computer services to maintain our website.  RonB

Thank you everyone!  So got the old one out.  Lol ,  yes that was pretty tight in there! The date on it was 2012.  So thinking that’s when it was replaced?   So did order from Amozon .  Still couldn’t figure how to get the small credit that goes toward this group 🤔.  And I did have a few things ready to drain so I didn’t have a gusher.  Thank you for all the advice! So the old one started making a weird noise.  Thought because my house batteries were end of life. Not enough power.  Got new ones.  But the last time I took a shower the pressure was low, and even more noisy. Anyway, when I looked at the pump, a few of the bolts were on the floor and a few were loose.  So it was running and maybe wearing itself out , since it looked like shaving built up around that area.  So will keep the old one for spare parts.  OK excited to get up and running!  Planning on going Oregon at the end of the month 🤞🏻.  From California.   Well thank you all again!!!! Mema, welcome to the forum! The Amazon Affiliate link is at the bottom of the forum’s splash page (see photo, it’s the second link). Just click on it and a new Amazon page will open, then do your shopping and place your order. Thanks!

Ok !  Got the new water pump in ! Yay 😀!  Works great and pressure and quiet!.  Did end up taking out the electrical panel.  Maybe it  easier but still a tight squeeze.  Should have had my 11 year old grandson help.  But it is done and so happy was able to do and saved a few bucks!  Well thanks again for help and suggestions !  Mema

Pulling the Power Center out to access the pump is normal for exchanging water pumps in MBs.
Good work!
