Squeaky floor
This is my first post - Greetings from Colorado!

I'm getting ready to install LVP flooring in our 2008 31' IB. There's some floor movement at the foot of the bed causing a squeak when you step on it. Kind of annoying during overnight trips to the bathroom. I was hoping to remedy before the install. I drilled a shallow hole to see if there was any dead space between the floor base and what I'm assuming is the gas tank, but not much room in there. The 2 X's on the attached picture are where the most movement is.
Any suggestions on a fix?

Thanks,
Dennis

Welcome to the Neighborhood Dennis.   You might not know there’s somewhere around 16 bolts that hold the house to the frame on our 2009 MB.  Your’s may have more.  All the nuts for these bolts can be accessed from underneath the RV.  If I remember correctly, they’re 9/16” nuts, but I’ve forgotten the torque specs.  (Someone should have that information shortly). At any rate, tightening any loose fasteners might help.

Take a look at the following topic.
Frame bolts, does anyone have a picture of them?

This topic suggested 15-20 ft. pounds.

Hope this helps.

We had a similar problem with our 2008 24’ FD, and the solution was as Ed said to tighten those nuts under the floor. You don’t want to go too tight because those are carriage bolts. If I remember correctly there are other posts that might show you where to look for the nuts.

Our 2005 Greyhawk 24SS (24' class C) had an intermittent, but very squeaky kitchen floor. Our RV guy had no idea what was causing it, but recommended trying to find it, as "those intermittent things" can be very hard to discover. A couple years later, I realized the squeaky floor appeared every time I filled the fresh water tank! The tank was underneath the kitchen floor, and would expand upwards enough to press against the underside of the floor when it was full. After a day or so of normal water use, it no longer contacted the floor, and the squeaky disappeared.

Now, I'm careful to shut off the fill as soon as the slightest bit of water comes out of the overflow vent. No more squeaky. And then there was the "squirrels and birds" running around on the roof over the cabover bed at night....
