Tires June 26, 2025, 02:05:51 pm It’s coming up on the dreaded 6 year anniversary where I should install new tires. Because the opinions seem to change as new tire models come out I thought I’d reach out to see the latest recommendations you all have? Thanks,Bill
Re: Tires Reply #2 – June 27, 2025, 02:33:08 am Hi Bill; It all depends! If you store your vehicle in a more sun free space, you might be able to go longer. I have the same load range 'E' tires, but with a E350 GVRW of 11,500#, so I stretch it out to 7 years. My first set of tires, back when Goodrich had those bad tires, were made in the same plant that was closed. I changed those out at 3 years. They had intense side wall cracking also. As Jor mentioned I have the Agilis Cross Climate version of the Michelin tires. So Far they look really good. I store the rig in my driveway with vinyl covers over the outsides of the tires.. I bought those in early '22, so I don't have to make any early replacements (yet). Just three years plus now. That may change as they age. Discount Tire or Costco. Ford supplies Hankook tires now on the chassis. I'm sure that most tires are good ones on the market. RonB
Re: Tires Reply #3 – June 27, 2025, 05:21:37 am Ask yourself, do you expect to age out or wear out this new set? When I purchased my used 2017 TK in 2022, it had 7,800 miles on the original tires. They looked great, but not knowing how they were stored or cared for, I considered these barely used tires to be aged out.Replaced them with fresh Agilis Cross Climate (Michelin) tires at the recommendation of many here. Wore them out by the end of 2024, putting over 40,000 miles, driving in some harsh conditions up to Alaska and Newfoundland. Performed flawlessly. Probably could have squeezed at least another 5k out of them, but replaced them early out of an abundance of caution as I was driving late into October cross country back to my home base in the northern Rockies. Didn’t hesitate add another set of Agilis Cross Climate (Michelin). Probably will age this set out, as I don’t expect more extreme long distance trips again.Granted, I suspect I am an outlier here, I doubt few here have put 50,000 miles on their Laze Daze over the past three years. My gas budget dwarfs any other expense, so I can’t see saving at most $50 a tire looking for something other than the proven Michelin Agilis Cross Climate. I drive to some very out of the way places, 20 miles of gravel up a mountain in Idaho? No problem. That’s my anecdotal experience, highly recommend the Michelins, but YMMV. 1 Likes

RonBRon - our rig is stored 100% indoors....I've always used Michelin so will probably use the them this time as well......I had a horrible experience with Discount when they snapped my tire extensions installed by the late "Tireman"....had replacements installed at Allen Tire......I'll stop in at my local Costco and ask them about their RV experience...thanks for the input!!
Re: Tires Reply #5 – June 27, 2025, 09:51:12 am I bought the Agelis Cross Climate. I think I've just been lucky, but I've had Michelin replace 2 sets of tires under warranty (free) for me. The first was for excessive sidewall cracking, a manufacturing issue. The most recent set was replaced because the tire was mis-labeled (had a 3 peak snowflake when they didn't actually test that tire size to earn the designation). While it looked initially like I was spending for a premium tire, I spent much less over my ownership period than I would have buying something else. If I was looking for something cheaper, I would consider Toyo. Rich 1 Likes

We switched to those type of tires several years ago for my car as we bounced to Utah quite a bit during snow weather

We switched to those type of tires several years ago for my car as we bounced to Utah quite a bit during snow weatherTo be clear, I didn't have to figure anything out. Michelin sent me a letter (both times) explaining the issue and saying I qualified for free tire replacement. Without the letter, I wouldn't have known. I'm sure part of this is due to regulations, but I like that they stand behind their products. Rich 1 Likes
