I now made an appointment with Buddy for May 19. They have no problem if I bring any parts. They also mentioned right away Flagstaff Tool as an alternative if there is a bigger problem with the generator as such.

I guess I should buy a 25 feet fuel line, right?

Buddy won't rip you off on the fuel line.
Throw him a bone and be happy if he can fix the problem.

I'm not afraid that they might rip me off. I've had work done there before (i.e. my solar system) and was happy with it. I just don't want to turn up there and find that they don't have a fitting fuel line. If they have it - great. If not, they can use the one I brought.

Most of the generator fuel line running from the fuel tank to the generator is hardline, with only the ends being rubber fuel hose.
Three feet of 5/16" fuel line should be adequate.
While at the auto parts stores, pick up four 5/16" fuel injection-style hose clamps, they tighten better and stay tight without damaging the hose, unlike gear-drive hose clamps.
They look like this.
