Toilet woes in Dometic 312
Anyone tackle working in the one inch space when possible leak coming from area near foot pedal?  Working ability is next to nil.
Anybody with hands and head the size of a Barbie and Ken dolls work in this area with luck?  This toilet is in the 31' model.
Thanks for looking and any advice.

I rebuilt ours and found it easiest to just separate the toilet bowl from the base. I rebuilt the ball seals, fill valve and then a new vacuum breaker in the back of the toilet. That was about the only way I had room to work and it wasn't too bad of a job.

Robin,
If it's leaking from where the foot pedal attaches to the toilet, I'd suspect the water valve.

I just replaced mine  with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hS3dzQOUVcw   Mike Coachman used this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CYYNKSZG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and had a spare for the next time.

Youtube shows how to do it https://youtu.be/W_1-21wL0rY?si=UtokXK9zQKFYVlEc

To get myself into that space, I laid on my stomach on the toilet and reached behind over the top of the toilet.

Not a real difficult job if you remember to remove the screw holding the valve in place.

Thank you Linda.  Do you have a Dometic 312?  Is your LD a 31' with separate commode area and separate shower?  I see all the models except the 312 at Amazon.  Thanks for giving some more options with this new adventure of LD life.

Robin,
I have a Dometic 310.  In the RB that I have, there is about 5 inches on the back and sides of the commode. The differences in all the 31X series is round or oblong bowl and tall or short base.  The basic mechanics of them all are the same.

Thank you Linda for the specs on inches to work in. I have less than an inch on my back wall and side wall is about 5 inches with the false wall that closes off the basement of LD where pipes are located.   Does your 310 sit on a plastic riser?  Mine does.  Thank you again.

Robin,
Here's a picture of my toilet.  It sits on the floor and has a one piece ceramic bowl and base. I removed the board on the right (that covers the vent pipe) to get at the valve a bit easier.
