I find I am more exacting the longer the stay.  If just overnight, I am less concerned with perfectly level. If it's a short stay in inclement weather, I have occasionally put the rig in TOTR (Turn Off The Reefer) mode.

I just went on Amazon to the (Hopkins) Bubble Level and it says down in the lower pages that (each increment is in inches) out of level. 

If that is the case this devise is really the "bomb" of level Bubble Level gadgets.

Thanks for your funny input.  We really do need to keep our sense of humor for awhile!

The "rake" is consistent, so the "all ways" leveling of the rig before placing the bubble levels works.

Different vehicles have various tracks, the distance the wheels are apart from each other, The ratio of bubble increments per inch of needed blocks changes in relation to the track width.
With use, you will learn approximately how many blocks will be needed and where to place them, without leaving the driver's seat
While sometimes, leveling can be difficult, 90% of the time I can level our LD as quickly as an LD with automatic, hydraulic levelers, sometimes faster.

Side note: If the rear of the rig needs a lift, remember to block both duals on each or both sides.

Hi Greg; definitely how not to level a trailer!  I wouldn't get near it, much less in it, or try to live in it. A small earthquake, gust of wind, bird landing on it, kid playing under it.......

After 13 years, we have found the most reliable leveling device to be the MB bath door.
You will shake your head, but it works.

Tried bubbles, used the iPhone, etc. We like the built-in device.

Since a level has no way of knowing how long the vehicle is, this claim sounds bogus to me. Consider my first Lazy Daze, a 22-footer, versus a 40' motorhome. The level can only read the angle. The number of inches off-level for a given angle will vary greatly between a 22' and a 40' motorhome. A level can't possibly read out accurately in inches for both.

What Hopkins may have meant was that their level reads in inches for side-to-side leveling. That's plausible, since all RVs are around eight feet wide, give or take a foot. There's not enough variation in width to be significant, so assuming the Hopkins level was designed for an 8-foot-wide vehicle, it could read pretty accurately in inches... but only for side-to-side leveling, not fore-and-aft.

Yup. With my midbath, I used bubble levels to get the level approximate, but the bathroom door was always the final test: if it stayed in position at any angle between open and closed, then I knew the rig was truly level. :-)
