Drowning!Huge pool of water in center of roof.
Hi all. Full time in LD , year 4...and last night heard a drip drip...sounding like water was dripping inside rig, on my ceiling.
Today went on top and there was a huge swimming pool of standing water, not in the usual front driver side, beware corner. It was between the a/c unit and front hatch. Must be a BiG low spot there. Not seen that much standing water there before...anyone had this issue? Thoughts on getting rid of low spot? Thanks!

Aha, Lake Newton!

I'd have to presume that it rained just prior to the dripping, no?  One has to be aware that this will occur during a rain storm. Best way to prevent or correct the situation is to elevate one end or the other to allow the accumulated water to drain off. Perhaps you should turn the fridge off for the duration of un-levelness!   :o   ;)

Delyn, what year and model LD do you have? LDs have flat roofs - as you have discovered. Water pools there if the coach is level. Give us more information. Where is the leak? If it's dripping from the roof onto you ceiling, then eventually it will find it's way inside.

If rain is not the culprit, and your vintage has a swamp cooler, a malfunctioning float valve can cause overflow onto the roof.

Thanks for thoughts. Yes, it had rained...have to laugh because we are so tuned on being level, that being unlevel to get water to drain never occurred to me! Good idea.
 The drip was during the rain and I stood with ear to ceiling until it was located. ...thinking water had found it's way inside roof top. Went up next day, hence large pool of water. Did not see a noticeable place for water to enter near the drip...so...guess it means find a sunny day and recall everything????

Have you found water inside the rig?  It has to go somewhere if it has actually entered.
Normally, dripping inside the ceiling would be quiet, the water lands on soft fiberglass insulation.

It's possible the rooftop A/C gasket is loose, leaks have been caused by loose A/C's attachment bolts.
The bolts are accessed after removing the interior plastic outlet cover, there will be three or four bolts, around the perimeter.

I have heard dripping before too, thinking it was inside when it turned out to something outside, dripping on the roof or other part of the rig.

I’ve found lake newton on my 2005 MB and the water fall that accompanies the emptying of the lake, when I pull down my driveway. I carry a small leaf blower, that I used to blow off the tops of our slide outs on our previous RV. Because I don’t want the standing water staying on the roof after washing the rig or a rain. I usually use the blower to remove the water by accessing the roof by ladder or escape hatch.

Hi Delyn;  I have a highly slanted driveway, and street that is slanted also, so I never have water pooling on the roof. When camping and it rains, I park nearly level so the refrigerator is happy, but enough off level so the water (rain, or condensate) runs off away from the entry door. Rain is unusual in southern California, but it is supposed to rain tomorrow night.  RonB
