I agree that in it's present position it presents a hazard from many angles. What I use in that application is a 'quick-disconnect', with one part connected to the LD and the other part located with my water supply equipment. 'Snap' and its done!   ;)

My doctor checks my age  and actinic keratosis spots every time I see her.  She calls them barnacles and normal for my age and stage.  You can say the same about the sealant and ss screws.  ;)
