Advice on Replacing the Check Valve in City Water Connection July 09, 2018, 11:50:22 am I have established the check valve in the city water connection on my LB 26 IB is faulty and the "reset" procedure is not working. I would like to remove the entire assembly which is fastened on with three screws but it is firmly held in place by adhesive or aging paint, etc. tugging on the brass fixture does not help. I assume I could put a sharp putty knife or makeshift chisel at the seam and strike with a rubber mallet to loosen the circular panel and get to the point that I can remove and replace the entire fixture.. So.. My question ..I don't want to risk scratching the paint or breaking something inside the fixture..IS there a better way...? THANKS for your help. All the best, John Hagan in Hornblower.. (getting ready to head west to Cheyenne WY for Frontier Days)..

Research on the forum should turn up the info you need.Basically it will require that the 'guts' of the device be changed out. This is normally a two person job, one on the outside inserting parts and another on the inside holding the inserted parts in place. I've done it once and have had it done for me once. I've even demonstrated to a GTG group how it is accomplished. By changing only the internals you do not have to mess up the paint. Make a search, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
Re: Advice on Replacing the Check Valve in City Water Connection Reply #2 – July 09, 2018, 02:06:02 pm Jhagen58 (name?)There are repair directions on the "Lazy Daze Companion". You can find a link to the LD Companion on the main page of this forum. Somehow it seems when that site got reorganized, it became harder to find the repair instructions for the "city water connection".Suggest you go to the LD Companion and click on the alphabetical index of articles. Scroll down to "Water" and click on "Repairing the city water connection". I contributed the information for that repair. It will read as more difficult than the project really is. I was originally given the directions for this repair by Vince at the Lazy Daze factory. Several folks have made this repair and I think all agreed it is much easier than replacing the city water valve.Good luck,Steve K
Re: Advice on Replacing the Check Valve in City Water Connection Reply #3 – July 09, 2018, 02:10:36 pm I don' know a better way to remove to remove the old inlet but do suggest just capping the inlet with a plug and never using it again, instead filling the water tank and using the water pump. The inlet check valve a very prone to trouble and many of use never hookup using the city water connection. This prevents the rig from being subjected to the high pressure water surges that RV parks can suffer from.Larry
