I replaced our hood light with an LED clearance light in clear. I attached to the panel opposite to the original light, basically it shines towards the back side of the stove but it's plenty of light. Simple project.

I just wired up a couple of led strip lights. Works great.

Years ago, I replaced our LD's hood light with a puck light, equipped with an LED bulb.

I also found an LED replacement for the range hood many years ago, but that tiny thing was the most expensive light bulb I've ever bought!
