This is big. Changed out the little strainer in the bathroom sink for a popup. Told you it was BIG! Couldn't get my 10" pipe wrench in there so I made it a 5. :D

Hi Jor, what? didn't like that wrench? Many times I've needed two big time monkey wrenches. Basin wrenches are handy, I've only got one of those. https://www.amazon.com/Ridgid-31175-Adjustable-Wrench-Silver/dp/B0009W6THM/ref=sr_1_38?crid=S1XUH5H073WB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sfelWshUe6vkuzlur2E8-TcTriZh24QBwpnV7EflQJdAsd1N6AldcmS-hyuwg8MZAxMOQ1tR7xEwKHoSkEUmyMUNEkaZsVgU8m_Rr1932hj-VV-8FQW0milsSpNZm7P9KAR8vlmZaor_bEaHAtsnjc3I64l5nDDF5t8ROZtFENp-2y3OgH-GiNlHONkODnm-uQNnVUxllru0KRyjSTrknrMESTOY96_a62DVV3UM0TK26z7oEdrQ7PysFpyOKrI9i_I1pIyrmKl7C1XEmZ-iUx4lf6q0LcwKCBr3gxQmMDk.w8N_J-ua9_iegYXhlqtOMWVbz2F4iB-rsO7kFqF_EF0&dib_tag=se&keywords=plumbing+basin+wrench&qid=1765063073&sprefix=%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-38 Rigid is a good brand. Jor, still functional, just add a pipe for the handle. 👍 That being said, they do make smaller pipe wrenches! 😉

To remove difficult drains, you need a special tool to deal with the old three-side drain holes, along with a lot of leverage.

I didn't have any trouble getting the old one out as I had replaced it a couple of years ago. The problem was tightening the nut on the popup. Big ole brass nut. Tried my basin wrench, too small. Tried my little pipe wrench, too small. The sawzall on the 10 incher did the trick. And now I've got a "new" tool! :D

Actually, two new tools. Although the second one is not quite as useful.

Replacement ?
For many years I refused to buy any tools from Harbor Freight. But I gotta say that they sell some quality stuff now. I guess they always have if you were careful in what you bought. e.g., I've got an HF pneumatic bottle jack one of the kids gave me maybe 25 years ago that is still going strong. They seem to have three different quality levels with high end tools like Icon and Earthquake. Anyhow, I'm onboard now and you can't beat a good pipe wrench for five bucks!
