Someone posted in a thread that they replaced their AC capacitors with a new soft start unit they got on Amazon back in early August. I can not find it in the search function, probably I am using the wrong words to find it. I was wondering how that worked out. I remember that the wiring had to be adjusted? I have bought one also and plan to add it to our setup on our 98~MB. Anybody remember the thread?

Something like this?
When searching, it's important to be on the main home page, with the picture of the month displayed. At some other page, you might be restricted to pages that are further down the recursive tree and in effect, not be searching the whole forum archives.
At least that's what seem to be happening to me.

Do your search for “ SoftStartRV” from the top level. Many of us are quite satisfied with the improvement.
This was a recent post link a month or two ago. They recommended a kit on Amazon for $79 and we bought it. They had installed it and claimed that it worked well. I am planning on installing it soon and was wondering if the installation was straight forward?

I added a soft-start several years ago, and it has worked great, putting less electrical strain on the A/Cs components during compressor start-up. Their site had wiring diagrams and installation instructions for a wide range of rooftop A/Cs

A soft-start is a good addition, assuming it is a quality piece of equipment.

Liam, if you bought that sot-start, these files may help.
