Title: Hand crank assembly for escape hatch 2005 mid-bath
Post by: David Gardner on July 31, 2025, 02:43:04 pm
Hi all,

So the hand crank assembly finally gave out on our last trip. The teeth of the gear seem to have worn down enough to where it will no longer engage and raise or even hold the hatch up. I can't seem to find a source to replace just the crank and I'm wondering if anyone knows of one. I've attached a picture to illustrate.
Thanks,
David G

Wow, that looks like it could work! It seems like the right length. I think I'll give it a try.

Larry, for the 20 years Mary and I have been LD'ing, you have been so helpful in so many situations. Thank you for today's help and all the other bits where you chimed in with great advice and explanations. Of course if this crank doesn't fit, I take it all back!  ;D

Edit: In fact, I think i found the exact match on this site. They have a couple of different brands it seems. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Dometic/FVK8011-05.html

I'm thinking more this one - doesn't list hole-to-hole, but your pic seem to indicate you need about 2 3/4":
