Title: TV Power
Post by: HiLola on July 30, 2025, 09:44:57 pm
No power to TV or antenna booster. The fuse in the 12 V power center is fine but when the fuse is pulled out, the little red light doesn’t come on so there appears to be no power to that circuit (#6). Any advice on what to check?

Looks like there is a spare circuit on number one, if you determine that 6 is really bad you could move to 1. You wouldn't have to buy a new board yet. Check 6 with your meter for 12 Volts

Hi Greg;  The little red light in the power center relies on the load to provide a 'leak to ground' through the load to light up. Nothing is wrong at the power center. The load isn't connected; so there is an open along the way to the television.
I believe that there is another fuse as part of the amplifier power going to the batwing antenna pre amp circuit. 6 amps if I remember correctly. Inside the cover plate with the cigarette lighter socket. Plugging and unplugging into that socket can sometimes short that circuit and pop that glass fuse.   RonB

Thanks Jon and Ron. Hoping to start trouble shooting tomorrow. Will follow-up later.

Good news, found the problem. First, I looked behind the cigarette lighter plug as Ron suggested but didn’t see any fuses there. Next, I removed the four screws holding the power switches/booster assembly in place and discovered that the power lead for the switch had dislodged. The connector was a little loose so I cinched it up a little with needle-nose pliers and reinstalled. A simple fix, and I learned more about the LD electrical system;  a win-win!

Thanks for your help!
