Magnum has been one of the “old guard” vendors in the RV Battery/Solar space. I have their 2KW inverter/charger in my LD, installed in 2013, and continuing to operate today. I am having trouble accessing their web site (on Sensata, the company that acquired them a few years back). I see a couple of posts on other forums about lack of responses from Magnum product or tech support. Very concerning.
Other vendors are looking promising. I hope not to take that leap…
My buddy has a Magnum inverter charger in his Winnebago.
A few years ago it failed because one of the fans quit and it overheated.
We took it to a repair facility and they told us they haven't been able to get a lot of parts from Magnum to fix them.
Suggested we look at Victron for a replacement. He had a backup Magnum and we installed that when we upgraded his solar system. Also got a Victron as a backup for when the Magnum quits again. So far the Magnum has been working fine, now that we changed some things, it no longer has to work as hard and doesn't get as hot. But we are ready for when it fails.
Too bad, Magnum was tho go to big inverter charger for a lot of manufacturers.
It was a month or so ago on iRV2 where someone posted that Magnum was no longer supporting the RV or Marine industry.
That's too bad. In the past, a lot of Lazy Daze owners upgraded to Magnum inverter/chargers.
For those who don't require multi-thousand-watt inverters, Victron has a new physically small MultiPlus series of inverter/chargers (https://www.victronenergy.com/inverters-chargers/multi-500-va#pd-nav-secondimage). It looks as if they top out at 1,600 volt-amps (= watts, for practical purposes), and they are physically much smaller than the old, bulky MultiPlus units. Might be worth a look if one has to replace a failed Magnum unit.
I just saw that Magnum Energy is being reincarnated back is the US by dmx power.

Searching other news reveals that Sensata discontinued Magnum and Dimensions products in 2024, which may be what led to this point. Hopefully Magnum gets back to relevance in the RV market.
The link didn’t work. Trying again…
