Title: Blow out hose
Post by: latljus on November 21, 2024, 03:46:41 pm
I'm having no luck selling my LD.  I might need to winterize it, so I'm looking for a blow out hose or adapter.  I emailed
Todd Miller, but haven't heard back.

The water pump is a SHURflo 4008.  The air compressor accepts a Milton type 1/4 inch air coupler.

I see lots of blow out hoses on Amazon, but all seem intended for the city water inlet.

Just an Opinion but blowout through the city water inlet then turn the pump on. Do that a few times and things should be clear.

The issue of blowing out is air pressure.    The fittings are plastic.  The city outlet value is rather fragile.  Blowing high air pressure through it will break the backflow value and/or spring.  When you blow air through the outlet side of the water pump you are generally at the lowest point water-wise.
