I had 1K solar on the roof and 300ah of lithium batteries. We had some cloudy days on our last trip and lost state of charge ground for several days so when we got back home I added a 4th 100ah battery for a nice round 400ah. I think, for us, this should be about right.

That’s about right, I have 850watts and 400ah. Given my usage, would even add a 5th battery for the longer cloudy spells.
But then my usage is rarely stationary for more than three days.
John, what items are you running to make the addition of another 100ah? I guess it depends on time of year (furnace) or (AC)?

We leave the inverter on all the time. Re 120v stuff, let's see... charge all the devices, stream TV or cast laptop to TV, coffee and tea in an electric kettle, induction cooktop, furnace and whatever. 300ah was fine but I just wanted another 100 because. :D

Yep, run my inverter all the time as well, same stuff as above plus the microwave & air fryer.
On sunny days, I even switch the fridge to AC knowing I’d be generating plenty of power during the day.

Forgot about the frig. We have a 12volt frig that draws continuously.

We have been managing with four lead Acid batteries with about 440ah around 200ah usable. Most everything in the coach is setup for 12v operation. Seems for us two to three days with no help from 540W solar on the roof in winter with furnace going is our limit. I do remember some years ago boondocking at Palisades Tahoe in a three day storm with area closed for two days due to the weather. We decided to fire up the generator on the second night preemptively because we had some fellow campers visiting us for while since all they had was a tent on the roof type setup and needed some warmth for a while. After that we got a Wave 6 heater to help save on 12v our furnace power usage. Knock on wood we still have a working absorption fridge but when that goes I guess we will change out for 12v fridge and Lithium batteries or at our next battery change which may happen before the frig goes? We have room for four of the size batteries in lithium which will put us at about 400ah also. We like that prices have come down now but don't know how long that will last.
