We have a White/Blue 2004 30 IB.
My wife and I want a backup camera. We are not hearing good things about WIRELESS cameras so we leaning heavily towards a WIRED Backup camera system. Is the LD rear end cap or somewhere near the center marker light prewired for a Backup Camera?
Please advise...
Thanks...

I prefer hardwired cameras but LD did not pre-wire for backup cameras. The wiring can be added, it has been done many times. A modern camera would probably require an updated cable anyway..(https://live.staticflickr.com/1121/1416465334_9dfac4fb90_z.jpg)[

Check Andy's recent review of the Wolfbox mirror and cameras it has received good reviews on other sites too.

Today cameras and monitors have better clarity and resolution than what your LD would have if the optional Factory camera was installed.
Our LD's camera is on when we travel with the Jeep is always in view, useful when passing.
Infrared LED illuminators provide decent night vision, providing night vision when backing into a site or checking the toad.

Hi Treelee; I bought the Wolfbox, but haven't installed it yet. My short 23 1/2' needed the 50' cable. I did get the factory camera in 1999, but it is woefully inadequate compared to todays tech. I got the 4k dashcam, and 1K rearview. Pondering where to mount the GPS antenna.
I have an overhead cabinet across the back. It should make the install much easier for the new cable, and I can follow the path of the original install. The new camera is very small, I intend to keep the bracket from the original camera in place and put the new one inside that larger housing. RonB
The factory installed a Voyager system in my rig before I got my hands on it. I intended to use that wiring for my Wolf box camera but I couldn't find an adapter. So then I figured I could follow the factory wiring. I pulled the bunk and lifted the plywood base to reveal the factory wiring (photo) but couldn't figure where it went from there. I ended up running my wire:
* From the rear view across the top of the windshield;
* Down the windshield column;
* Through the entry step;
* On the floor under the stove and sink;
* Behind the toilet;
* Up the shower wall;
* Along the wall behind the TV;
* And finally across the back cabinet and out the endcap. (whew!)
I'm going to do another post to comment on my Wolfbox.

Thanks guys... Much appreciated..
"I intended to use that wiring for my Wolf box camera but I couldn't find an adapter."
I doubt such a thing exists, but one can get along without it. :-)
I wish I'd had preinstalled wiring in my Airstream, but they used a Voyager-quality wireless camera instead... and after a couple of years it died. Obsolete technology; not worth fixing.
So I bought extension cables (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07951HCG9?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in the Wolfbox/Vantop format--super-skinny wire with tiny four-pin connectors--but I found that for my setup (17' truck plus 19' trailer), the rear-view camera system only worked intermittently--too much voltage drop in all that tiny wire (looked like about 26 gauge!). So I bought some 16/4 cable from Custom Cable & Wire (https://www.customcableusa.com/), an outfit I've dealt with before when buying marine-grade wire. I cut up one of the rear-view camera's extension cables and spliced a couple feet onto each end of the 16 gauge cable, to mate with the camera on one end and the mirror display on the other.
That solved my problems. If I'd had existing four-conductor wiring, I would have done the same thing, splicing short sections of Vantop/Wolfbox cable onto the ends of the existing wiring.
Thank you...
