In a few days, I'm going to travel to Puerto Penasco for the winter in my Lazy Daze. I was going to rent a small cottage, but that didn't work out. However, instead of dry camping this year or staying in a campground with full hookups I found a single RV site at a former Bed and Breakfast. The owners build an RV site with dump/electric/water for her sister and her late husband. It's not "on" the beach, but close enough and in a central and safe location.
The couple very generously have agreed to rent the space to me for $400/USD per month. That's a deal because the dry camp is now $450 and the RV park next to it with full hookups is $810. I like being near the beach, but sometimes it's hectic and noisy with people that like to party 24/7.
The owner thinks the box has both 50 and 30 amp plugs, but if it doesn't I obviously need to purchase an adapter. Sorry for being "dazed and confused," but can I still use my 30 amp surge protector with the adapter? It seems somewhere I read the answer is no.
Apologies for the seemingly stupid question...
Cheryl
There are a few different types of 50 and 30 amp outlets. See if the owner is willing to send you a picture of the outlets.
If it's a traditional RV 50 amp outlet (Nema 14-50), you should be able to go Outlet-->50 to 30 adapter-->surge protector-->power cable-->coach.
Things get a little more complicated with 30 amp outlets, and people (even electricians) without RV experience sometimes get them mixed up. A 30 amp dryer outlet, for example, would be hard to make work with your RV. A 30 amp RV outlet (TT-30) obviously would be fine.

Thanks so much for replying Rich - it's all good as the owner has a dedicated 50/30 amp post - just like in an RV park. Now, I'm ready to soak up some much needed "Vitamin Sea."
