Title: Roof Vents size, skylight and AC Cover
Post by: BadgerOakhurst on October 23, 2023, 10:09:40 pm
My Dad is 88 years old living in Oakhurst CA, and I’m in Scottsdale AZ. I’m the only guy in the family that can fix things, and I have been elected to help fix the roof vents on the 2006 30 ft Island bed Lazy Daze. I’m trying to find the correct parts to order, have them shipped so that I can drive up and do the install.

I asked my Dad to measure the vents, but the numbers look off & I’m not sure how he measured them.

I need the full bedroom vent assembly, size.
The Bathroom skylight, size and part number if anyone knows it
AC Cover – part number or recommendations
And the bath and kitchen vent lid size - part numbers if you have them.

Have any Ideas on where I might be able to track those down. With the factory being closed I'm thinking the skylight is going to be the hardest?  With most of the parts vendors not having  Lazy Daze as a dropdown  I need some guidance on trying to order the right parts.

Thanks for the help.

Most vents are 14x14.
The escape hatches vary.  You will have to measure them.
The bathroom Skylight over the Shower stall.  Again they vary by model and year. Once you know contact Todd
AC cover depends on the current model installed.

The above post suggested that the OP contact Todd Miller.  Todd used to work at the LD Factory and is liquidating LD parts. He’s extremely helpful.  Here’s his contact information.

Hope this helps.

Here is a link to a replacement escape hatch lid that fit perfectly on my 2004 26.5 IB. The escape hatch is on the ceiling of the above cab sleeping area of my LD. If your hatch  is in the same location it may be the same. Actual measurement will verify.

The OP has a 30'IB. No LD of that size and floor plan has an 'escape hatch! He is probably talking about the skylight in the ceiling of the shower enclosure.

Were I able, I could make measurements of my skylight and post them here. Alas, that can't happen for at least a week!

If you desire to replace a worn or damaged 'roof vent cover' perhaps this is not for you! The cover alone would be far less expensive. However if you want to replace or add a full vent fan assembly you can not do better than this one from e-Trailer. I have 5 of these in my 30'IB LD. The cover is integral to the assembly!

Assuming the vents are originals, they are Fanstatic Fans and  replacement covers are available from Camco.
Check with Todd for the shower skylight.

Assuming where your father lives, Fresno seems to be close by.   I generally don't recommend Camping World but they have a few locations in Fresno.  All those parts you need may be available there.

I have an AC cover in Tempe, Arizona, you can have, just come by and pick it up. hbn7hj at aol.com.

All vent openings are 14 X 14 inches. Take an old vent cover to camping world and match it for a replacement.

On second thought a 30ft LD probably had a 15,000 BTU A/C. The cover is for a 13,500 Dometic Penguin (II?) on a 2006 RB. It is 5 years old and still strong. The original disintegrated. I replaced the A/C with a 15,000 BTU unit three years ago.

Anyone else want it the same deal goes. Shipping costs are so high you may as well buy a new one if you cannot pick it up.

As Harry said; the 14 x 14" covers are the same except for the hinges and operator (opener lever). So that is what you need to match. They have changed over the years.   RonB

2006 YM LDs have Fantastic Vents.  Lazy Bones pointed out. 31' models do not have escape hatches.
Fantastic Fan cover, the part that the sun destroys.

The A/C covers vary, the Factory used different A/C units over the years, so it will need to be matched unless the make and model number of the A/C unit is known.
Amazon usually can deliver most A/C covers in a few days.
