Title: Catalytic converter alarm
Post by: tedeboy on May 12, 2023, 08:45:26 pm
I'm looking for a motion sensor alarm. I will be putting it on my catalytic converter or near the catalytic converter to sense motion.

I will need the alarm to be able to notify me in the house when someone shakes or in any way moves the catalytic converter.

I don't need a visual sensor I need a motion sensor. A visual sensor would be tripped by the cats in the neighborhood and I don't want those false alarms.

Any tips are appreciated thank you.

Search for motorcycle vibration alarm (no quotes).

A vibration sensor that will take the heat may be hard to find, and by the time it notified, damage will likely already have occurred. Maybe an option would be a motion sensor and add a critter deterrent, such as an ultra-sonic noise (~40kHz) to repel cats, dogs, rodents, and maybe opossums and raccoons?
