Hi folks,
We lost one of the clamping bolt caps that hold down the skirt over the rear tire. I looked at various local hardware sites, found one that might work with some jury rigging, but I wondered if anyone knows of where to get a replacement for the old knobs?
I’d call or email Todd whose information is explained in this link and who worked at LD for along time.

And if you have success, could you post your findings? I’d certainly like at least one spare. Hope this helps.
Or McMaster-Carr has a good selection.

Hi folks,
Ordered what seems to be the correct knobs from McMaster-Carr. Fortunately, when I looked around locally and on line, I discovered that they are called Clamping Knobs, so once I got into McM's website, I found it quite quickly. By the way, it's a 1/4 20 clamping knob.
Thanks to Suby and to Katie for responding.
Also, earlier today, I ran across a note that Todd is no longer available. Probably just got to many requests. If otherwise, let me know,
Thanks again, and take care for now.
My understanding of Todds' role in all this is that he cleaned out whatever supplies LD had on hand, and would sell them off until they were gone. In addition he would help members contact the vendors directly to obtain new parts. I suspect that storage fee's have caught up, and/or all of the parts are gone. I'm sure that Todd has had to find ongoing employment by now. RonB

Todd is still going strong. I ordered some stuff from him yesterday.

I'm glad to hear that Todd is alive and well. He is proving to be an invaluable source of parts and advice. RonB
"I discovered that they are called Clamping Knobs, ..."
Yes, and clamp they will, right up against the paint on the fender skirt!
To prevent the marring of the paint at the contact points obtain four 'nylon' fender washers (most any hardware shop) and slip the threaded shank through the hole in the washers. It may be necessary to drill out the hole in the washer to accommodate the shank diameter.
That way the nylon washer is between the clamping knob and the paint job. :D
For those looking for fender skirt clamping knobs, Tractor Supply may have what you need.
For what it is worth, I contacted Todd a few months ago for a missing fender skirt knob for my 2007 and he said they only come in a package of four. I was happy to purchase the "four pack" and now have 3 spares!
Best to all,

Hi Gary; Were those knobs from Todd painted, or generic Black. I believe I saw some black knobs at Home Depot. I don't have those knobs on my older 1999. (just the modified vertical wing nuts) RonB
Hi Ron,
The knobs that Todd sent me were the exact match for my 2007; they are black in the shape of an X, four prong. I recall Todd confirming the color and shape for my year of LD. That indicated to me that he may have access to several options.
Best,
Gary
"Were those knobs from Todd painted, or generic Black."
My 2004 came with color coordinated knobs! But when I needed replacements, due to chipped paint, I was informed that they would be in basic black, no paint matching. :(
