Title: Solar Panel Question
Post by: Mindispower on March 19, 2023, 12:46:23 am
I have not found anything that addresses this. I have my 2 6volt house batts hooked up in parallel. If I get a 100W portable Solar Panel,   how would I connect it to the batts? I am thinking single POS on one side, and single NEG on the other?

This might help …

And then this article…

If your portable solar panel has a controller just hook the pos to pos and neg to neg.   If it, the portable solar panel, doses not have a controller then you will have to 'build' it.

Enclosed is a thread I post a spell back about building a 'lesson' solar panel built.

ps I've been using this homemade built for four or more years.   I will do an update/review after I've added some new parts this summer.

"I have my 2 6volt house batts hooked up in parallel."

As Keith said, they're wired in series, not parallel. That's how you get 12 volts out of two 6 volt batteries.
