My original post on this somehow got combined with another one on entry locks so I'm posting this as a new post.
After seeing JohnF's photos, I replaced all my OEM compartment locks with Combi-Cams which allow you to have the locks in an unlocked or locked state. Here are a couple of photos. I wrote up a how-to but couldn't figure out how to put it in the media section so I'll attach it to this post.

Thanks for the photos and write up (FYI, your date says 2002)
Decided not to go with plastic covers for the locks, because it made opening harder?
Couldn’t reuse the Lazy Daze finger pulls?

Yea. They partially cover the base of the knob and it wasn't comfortable for me. I have a set so I can always change my mind. Thanks for the date tip. Good eye!

Changed my mind on the covers after it snowed here last night! Better safe... :D

Do what you can to keep the water out, and be prepared to do some maintenance to keep the locks spinning freely.
I've owned my rig for 12 years now and twice I've had a lock stick on me so that I couldn't open it with the key. Both times I was able to access the inside of the door from the coach, but that isn't possible with all compartments.
Now I make a point to maintain the locks every couple of years to keep things moving smoothly. I use boeshield t-9, and it seems to work for me.
Exposed combi locks seem like trouble waiting to happen unless you maintain them well.

I saw the light, Rich. See my last post.

Keyless at last!
Installed a couple of thumb locks. That's that. No more key!

Nice!
Which thumb locks?
Which thumb locks?
1 3/8" (https://www.ebay.com/itm/352654069986)
5/8" (https://www.ebay.com/itm/133829030568)
The only issue is that the 5/8" did not come with a 3/4" cam which is what is needed for the little water fill door. I had to enlarge the square hole in one that came with the Combi-Cams I used on the other compartments.
