I am replacing the three detectors (smoke, CO and propane). Smoke and CO are no problem as they are mounted on the ceiling. The propane detector is hard wired and mounted near the floor through a 4" x 3" hole. All the propane detectors I've researched are just a little small for this hole. Anyone have a replacement that covers the hole or do I need to cover the hole and mount on the cover? Thanks.

Hi JOR; There is a drop down menu under Community with a 'Search' function. You'll find lots of previous comments about all sorts of things related to our older LD's. Replaced broken propane detector (https://www.lazydazeowners.com/index.php?topic=36789.msg233892#msg233892)

No joy on any of these. They are all a tad short. To cover the hole, I need 3+ inches. On Amazon you really have to dig to get the actual dimension rather than the package dimension. I ran into this problem on other rigs and ended up covering the hole and mounting on the cover. I guess I'll try and match the wood or maybe go with a little black panel or something. I'll post my solution. Thanks to all.

John; Just how big is the hole you have, and the distance between the screws. I can't imagine that our 1999 size detector isn't wide enough to more than fill the hole your picture indicates. The height of the hole may be taller than the old detectors. RonB

Hi, Ron. I imagine the hole in my rig is identical to others. It's 3" x 4". The width is not the problem; it's the height. For example, the Pangea user manual indicates the height is 2 7/8" (
CASE DIMENSIONS (Flush) 6 3/8” W x 2 7/8” H x 7/8” D). Anyhow, no sweat. Now we can't get going for another four weeks so I need the work!

I just replaced mine with this one. 4x3 hole.

Sold! Thanks. I didn't see the actual dimensions in the write-up but found this in the comments:

I just got mine in the mail. The cover dimensions are 4 3/4" wide and 3 3/8" tall. The cutout needs to be 4" wide and 3" tall. These dimensions are EXACT!!!
Also, I changed out my brown 120v outlets to white so this will go with them. Old eyes can't see those brown ones!
I'm ordering it now. Thanks for the tip, Greg! Great forum!!!

You’re welcome! I switched from a black to white sensor and think it looks good. See Reply #30 in this thread for photos:

I agree about the outlets. I installed a white one with usb receptacles in place of the black one near the rear lounge area.

Well, now, this is a fine idea. I might have to redo one of mine. My new propane detector is coming today. I love/hate Amazon.

OK. Got the new propane detector the next day (still amazed Amazon can pull that off). Anyhow, just as Hilola indicated, it's a perfect fit with the same screw holes. Good to go. (propane detector (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AMBHGE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details))
I took a couple of photos of the area behind the detector (in front of the water tank on this model) for everyone's viewing pleasure. Looks like a guy could just pull that front panel and have great access to important stuff! One photo looks back toward the water pump and the other, forward toward the refrigerator.

Looks great, good job! There is access to propane back behind that panel so some folks like to tap in there to install a quick connect/disconnect for a Wave heater.
This was an exact fit replacement in my 2001 TK. Same mounting hole, same screw holes.
