I guess I was expecting to see it on one of the sides a quarter up from the bottom. Does it actually enter from the top of the tank? Sorry I’ve done some searching but have not located a picture or drawing yet.
Thanks,
Steve

Top middle - as part of the fuel pump. Right next to the other fuel connections (engine send and return).
The dip tube extends down 3/4 of the way into the tank.

Zoom in on the photo. The fitting on the left side of the fuel pump, the one with the 1/4” fuel line, is the outlet for the generator.
If you have to drop your gas tank, replace all the rubber lines including the emission hoses.

Thanks Larry and Rich. So all fuel pumps come with this extra inlet that goes down 3/4 into the fuel tank?

No - you have to order the pump with that option.

My brother was quoted $800 dollars to drop the tank and replace the fuel line for the generator. This shop has treated him well in the past with good pricing. We were both a little surprised at the price. I think it’s going to give him the incentive to do it himself.

Thanks again Rich, valuable information!
The pump needs three outlets, most only have two outlets.
Changing the pump yourself can be a challenging, make sure it is as empty as possible, just a few gallons of fuel in the tank will make it very unstable. Some tanks have a drain plug on the bottom.
Even empty, the steel tank is very heavy.

Thanks Larry, I’ve been gathering information to help my brother who has a 2007 Itasca. I’m 300 miles away so he gets to do all the heavy lifting but I can at least do the research. He’s 15 years younger than me so he should be able to do the job.
Hopefully I will not have to do mine anytime in the future but at least my tank has a drain plug😁
