Ron, just a suggestion, but you might want to check with Marshall Excelsior (used to be “Marshall Brass”) and see if their two-stage regulator (bottom vent, I think) is available. It may be difficult to find, but the company catalog may have it. The Marshall Excelsior regulator was my choice over the Camco because of uneven experience with Camco products.

Our LD's regulator was damaged by having the rig's propane tank filled at a station in Twin Lakes (Eastern Sierra), with a high-volume, high-pressure pump, one designed to fill large containers fast. I forgot to shut the propane valve and the pressure surge damaged the regulator's diaphragm, causing a propane leak that was vented to the atmosphere.
Lesson learned, make sure the main propane valve is closed when filling.
It was an interesting repair, the nearest new regulator was a long way away in Bishop and it was a very hot summer day to be sitting on the blazing pavement. RVing has a few negative sides.
When replacing a regulator, make sure the replacement has the drain pointed downward, when installed.

Good information… I never look over the shoulder of the person filling the propane tank. I had just assumed they knew what they were doing. I’ll be paying more attention and turning off the main valve before filling. Thank you 😊
