Title: 2002 30IB Front and Rear Shock Replacement
Post by: GlennE on April 14, 2022, 04:52:34 pm
Hello fellow Adventurers!

I am in the process of replacing my shocks on my 2002 30IB and have read a few threads discussing Bilstein, Koni and Napa.  It sounds like the majority like Koni although a little pricier.  Is this still the preferred replacement shock for our LD's?  Please weigh in with your thoughts and experience.

Thank you,

Glenn

I replaced my factory HD Bilsteins with Bilstein Comfort in 2014. When I don’t tow the rear end has too much play but when I tow the extra weight provides good stability. Comforts on the front with proper alignment is excellent. In retrospect I would opt for the HD for the rear, something you might consider with you extra length and weight on your 30 footer.

Thanks Malcolm,

I ended up ordering the Koni FSD today from shock warehouse.  They should be here at the end of next week!  The Bilstein HD rears are back ordered for a month and the Konis seem to have a good reputation and following.
